Due to unforeseen circumstances we are having to postpone our gig at The Musician in Leicester on Thursday the 17th of August.

Our sincerest apologies to all ticket holders for the inconvenience that this may cause.

The new date is Sunday the 25th of February and all current tickets will remain valid but any queries should be made to the relevant ticket site that you purchased from.

The founder of the Folk on Foot podcast and all round huge supporter of folk music and musicians, Matthew Bannister, is undertaking a fundraising walk in aid of the 100 year-old Help Musicians charity from the Wickham Music Festival starting on the 4th of August and finishing at the FolkEast Festival on the 18th of August, where we’re playing at night.

To support Matthew we are donating a share of all our online music sales between now and the 18th of August to his fundraiser, so if you have any need to fill your The Magpie Arc collection then now would be a really good time to do that.

100% of the proceeds from our “pay what you want” download single of Robert Burns Ae Fond Kiss will go to the cause as will 25% of ALL our online download, CD and vinyl sales of Glamour In the Grey and The First Three EPs.

We know that many of you will already own our music but you can buy downloads from our Bandcamp sales site as “gifts” for others. Just look for the “Send as Gift” icon where you can add their email address. And you can of course also add a separate delivery address on our CD and vinyl site if you would like to send a physical copy of any album as a gift too.

We are finally releasing our latest album Glamour In the Grey on all streaming platforms on Friday the 7th of July but in advance of that the third single from it is released to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music etc. today.

Jack Frost is our wonderfully wintry version of the classic Mike Waterson song and is sung by Martin Simpson. We filmed this video in what seemed like an Arctic temperature in a studio in Sheffield in January and oh for a quick blast of that just now!

So it’s the 7th of July for all you streamers to look out for, but of course for you buyers our CD’s, Vinyl and Downloads are all still available here at themagpiearc.com/shop

Today is another Bandcamp Friday which is the day that our digital distributor Bandcamp waive all their revenue for artists that use the platform, so it’s an especially good day for us to download our 3 EP’s or latest album Glamour In The Grey.

We also have a single available of our version of the beautiful Robert Burns song Ae Fond Kiss with the great singer Adam Holmes, and it’s available as a “pay what you want” download with absolutely ALL our proceeds going to the RSPB.

Paying nothing and just telling your friends about it would be great, as would paying a £1 or whatever at all you can manage. The last time we did this we raised over £260 so lets do it again for the birds and help us Magpies help THE magpies.
