Christmas Bandcamp Friday

It’s the last Bandcamp Friday before Christmas and it’s an excellent time to support artists who sell on it and buy directly from them as the site waives it’s revenue and so we all make a little bit more money from sales.

We’re there, as are band-members Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr and Findlay Napier plus superb musical mates such as Jon Boden, Spiers and Boden, Blair Dunlop, the absolutely outstanding new folk talent Lizzy Hardingham and many, many others, so do check them out.

For all our music digital downloads and international CD and vinyl orders were there at themagpiearc.bandcamp.com and for UK CD and vinyl orders we’re here at themagpiearc.com/shop

In The UK Charts and Christmas Gig With Maddy Prior!

Tomorrow is the final counting day for the UK Official Folk Chart and we’ve had a whisper that we’re in there, so if you were thinking of buying our new album Glamour In The Grey then now would be a very good time to do so and help us get nearer to Number 1.

You can buy it at themagpiearc.com on CD, 12″ Vinyl and Digital Download where you can also hear the epic new Nancy Kerr song All I Planted.

Sounds a bit grand we know but chart placings are excellent (and free!) PR for bands…….and every little bit helps these days.

Also, we’re playing a Christmas show at Firth Hall in Sheffield on Thursday the 15th of December where we’ll be joined by a very special guest, folk/rock legend Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span.

Maddy will be playing a set with Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, then joining the band in our set for a few songs and we’re rather excited about this to say the least!

Tickets for the gig are available now at themagpiearc.com/live but are selling fast so don’t miss out if you fancy going.

Thank you for your wonderful support everyone, it’s always, always appreciated.

Glamour In The Grey In The Official UK Album Charts!

Thank you so much to everyone who has bought our new album Glamour In the Grey since sales opened last month, it has made it into the Top 50 of the Official UK Independent Album Chart on it’s first week of release at Number 42!

What a lovely sight this is – https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/independent-albums-chart/

On top of that, we have come in at two places above a young band of hopefuls by the name of Pink Floyd.

If you are intending to buy the album then it would be very handy for us if that was before the 24th of November when it will further count towards the current placing and hopefully get us even higher up.

It all sounds very grand we know, but it is excellent PR for a band!

You can hear preview song Pans of Biscuits and get the album now at themagpiearc.com on CD, vinyl and digital download.

Thank you again everyone, you are all completely wonderful!

New Album Out Tomorrow!

Glamour In The Grey is out tomorrow and as it’s Bandcamp Friday, which is the day that they waive all their revenue from artists who use the platform for sales, if you are still planning to buy the digital download then it would be fantastic for us if you could hold off until morning and go for it then at our Bandcamp site here.

The album is eligible for the Official UK Folk Chart, downloads count towards that and there’s a good chance that we’ll make it in, so all support is very, very welcome.

If you’re still to buy the album on CD or 12″ vinyl then you don’t need to hang about and can buy it now at themagpiearc.com and also hear our new song Pans of Biscuits whilst you’re at it.

Thank you for your support everyone, you’ve been wonderful!

New Album Release Week!

It’s new album release week and our first full-length album Glamour In The Grey is out this Friday the 4th of November.

We have Nancy Kerr folk/rock belters with “just the right amount of Black Sabbath” according to one reviewer, plus a wonderful version of the wintry Mike Waterson song Jack Frost, our “The Band’esque” version of American traditional song Pans of Biscuits, Findlay Napier’s kiss-off to an ex with Don’t Leave The Door Open (or is it about Scottish independence?) and more.

You can hear Pans of Biscuits and pre-order the album now on CD or 12″ vinyl at themagpiearc.com or listen to it and pre-order the digital download on Bandcamp here.

And get this, the album is eligible for the UK Folk Chart so if you wonderful people were thinking of buying it then between now and the 24th of November would be a very helpful time for us.

Love,

TMA xx

There are ten new songs of folk/rock wonderfulness, with (as one reviewer has brilliantly said about one track) just the right amount of Black Sabbath!
